Welcome to Kairos Speech Therapy and Learning

Located in North Ryde, we offer speech therapy and occupational therapy in English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese. We offer sessions at our clinic, mobile sessions (preschool, school and home visits) and Telehealth (Online Therapy). We're registered Medicare Providers and NDIS providers.

Our Team

Lois Cho
Director & Speech Pathologist

Lois is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated from University of Sydney and has over a decade of experience. She has a strong passion for working with families, children and adults to help them reach that light-bulb moment where learning finally becomes fun and they flourish in many areas of their life! She can also provide therapy in Korean.

She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults in both private and public health setting. She has also worked as a Speech Pathologist for the Child Developmental Clinic (CDC), a Multi-disciplinary Assessment team at Auburn Hospital.

Lois has been trained in PECS, Hanen- More than Words, PEERS training for Adolescents and Young Adults, BLADES therapy, Social Thinking Program, Lidcombe Program (Stuttering therapy), Sounds~write (evidence-based phonics program), Talk for Writing, Key Word Sign and also has training in social skills, literacy and speech sounds programs. She is an InsideOut Sensory trained therapist. She is also trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) which incorporates: tongue tie, tongue thrust, tongue positioning for speech sounds, mouth breathing and oral habits.

Iris Yamagishi
Senior Speech Pathologist

Iris is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated from University of Sydney. She has been working since 2013 within the private sector conducting assessment and therapy for children with Autism, Down Syndrome, speech sound disorders, stuttering, language delays, literacy difficulties and social difficulties. 

As a mother of 3 children, Iris understands the importance of meeting children where they are at and supporting them, their families and their communities in moving them to where they want to be. She takes pride in being an excellent listener and developing genuine relationships with her clients and their families. She believes that everyone has the right to communicate and strives to ensure each client she sees achieves their potential in a fun and meaningful environment.  

Iris is trained in PECs, Key Word Sign, Hanen (It Takes Two to Talk) & DIR Floortime. She is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure her clinical skills allow her to provide quality therapy to her clients. She is also bilingual in English and Cantonese.

Dorcas Kan
Speech Pathologist

Dorcas is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor in Linguistics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dorcas enjoys working with paediatric clients using a child-led play-based therapy approach to help them reach their goals in a fun way.

Dorcas has a strong passion for families from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. She has experience working with multilingual families and strives to advocate for bilingualism education and development. Dorcas is multilingual in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese, and she takes pride in using her expertise to support multilingual children reach their goals in therapy.

Dorcas also has experience working with children and adolescents who have difficulties in speech, language, fluency, social communication and literacy, as well as neurodiverse children. She enjoys working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary support teams to develop functional goals and therapy plans to support each client’s needs. She is also committed to provide compassionate and individualised care to each client.

Helen Hwang
Speech Pathologist

Helen is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated from the University of Sydney. Helen is a creative and passionate bilingual speech therapist, fluent in both English and Korean. She is dedicated to building confidence in children by making therapy sessions both fun and effective.

Helen has experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and addressing various communication disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Cerebral Palsy.

She values connecting with her clients and prioritises a collaborative approach with families and other professionals to achieve meaningful progress. Her warm and inclusive approach makes her especially skilled in working with children who exhibit behavioural challenges.

Lelina Chia
Speech Pathologist

Lelina is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from Macquarie University. She has provided intervention in a range of settings, including clinic, early learning centres and preschools, and both mainstream and support units in schools. Lelina has experience working with children and adolescents who have difficulties in speech, language, fluency, and literacy, as well as children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and intellectual impairment.

Lelina is committed to providing compassionate and individualised care to clients and their families, whilst keeping therapy sessions motivating and fun. She enjoys working collaboratively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals to allow clients to achieve meaningful outcomes in all environments. Lelina is trained in Hanen (More than words).

Victoria Lee
Speech Pathologist

Victoria is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated from the University of Sydney. She has always loved working and interacting with paediatric clients and their families and positively impacting many aspects of their life.

As a bilingual speaker, Victoria especially has a strong passion for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and strives to learn different ways to empower clients to realise their full potential. She strives to develop the most functional and sustainable goals by collaborating with clients, their families, and other relevant professionals. She also believes in the significance of life-long learning and is committed to always investigating and learning evidence-based approaches to deliver highly personalised care for all clients. Victoria can also deliver therapy in Korean. Victoria is trained in Hanen (More than words) and Sounds~write.

Celine Hui
Occupational Therapist

Celine is a registered Occupational therapist who graduated from University of Sydney. She has a variety of experiences in early intervention and across all age groups, including toddlers, children and adolescents. Celine has undertaken additional training in play intervention, handwriting difficulties, toileting training and is an accredited WeeFIM assessor and ESDM therapist. She strives to provide evidence-based practices and regularly attends professional development courses to develop her skills. She enjoys collaborating with families to deliver child-led, family-orientated practices. Her favourite moments are to celebrate the small wins with all her clients! Celine is also bilingual and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.  


Jessica Suh
Occupational Therapist

Jessica has worked as an Occupational Therapist since 2013 in a variety of settings and roles, from private practice, participating in international development in the allied health sector through DFAT, and working as a team leader. She has extensive experience in activities of daily living training and functional capacity assessments. She has experience working across all age groups including children and adolescence as well as providing equipment prescription.

Jessica holds registration with AHPRA and is a member of OT Australia. She has undertaken additional training in home modifications, seating, play therapy, sensory processing, primitive reflexes, TheraSuit Therapy and regularly attends courses and webinars to stay up to date with best practice. She enjoys working together with each individual and their supports to achieve goals that help improve their quality of life and joy through all the small and big wins.

Our Services
Group Therapy

We run groups during school terms as well as intensives during school holidays. There is a minimum of 3 no more than 6 in a group.​

We run Social Skills Groups, Preschool Social Skills and Language Groups and School Readiness and Literacy Groups.

Social Pairings

We run social pairings for children who require support for their social skills in a safe and fun environment! Individual sessions and social pairings work well together to help the child apply what they have learnt. We love social pairings because we get to see real friendships blossom!

Our Services

Special Interests Holiday Program

In the school holidays, we run three groups that are based on special interests:
- Foodie Friends 
- Crafty Connections
- Curious Kids Lab (Science)

These groups aim to create an environment where children with shared interests can build social connections and communication skills and learn about the world around them through different experiences and their creativity! 

We have a maximum of 8 spots in each group.

Our Services

Allied Health Assistant Support

Our Allied Health Assistants (AHA) are in their third or final year of studying Speech Pathology and have completed specialty units specific to speech therapy. They can implement routine therapy programs for individuals and groups, under the guidance of a qualified and certified Speech Pathologist.

All goals and therapy programs are created by the Speech Pathologist. The AHA will only administer the therapy program at the clinic, client's home or school and will document progress and will report directly to the supervising Speech Pathologist.

Please note that AHA Support does not replace speech therapy but complements speech therapy by providing extra support through the AHA.

Funding

Chronic Disease Management Plan (Medicare)

Clients may be eligible for five Medicare-funded sessions with a rebate of $58/session. Our clinic does not bulk bill. A plan can be obtained and used every calendar year and your GP will determine eligibility. We are registered Medicare providers.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We are an approved and registered provider of NDIS for Agency-Managed clients accessing Therapeutic Supports Budget. We can also see Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS clients.

Private Health Funds

If you have private health insurance, your cover may entitle you to a rebate for Speech Pathology Services. You will need to confirm with your health fund to ensure your level of cover. We are registered with most private health funds.
