FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP or Doctor's referral?

No, anyone can refer themselves to speech therapy!

However, you can contact your GP to see if you are eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan where you may receive a Medicare rebate for 5 sessions.

Do you have a waiting list?

Our after-school spots are quite popular and often have a considerable waitlist. We recommend our clients maximize their chances of securing an appointment by providing a flexible availability schedule. For daytime appointments (9 am-3:00 pm), the waitlist is typically shorter, and on certain days, there may be no waitlist at all. We have a waitlist specifically for clients requesting only a clinician who speaks Cantonese or Korean.

Do I have to have an assessment before starting therapy?

Yes, a speech pathologist needs to conduct an assessment as it will help us understand a client's strengths, areas requiring support and goals. Assessments are valuable in helping the therapist tailor therapy suited to our clients. Personalised therapy is effective therapy!

What if I have an assessment report from a previous speech pathologist?

If the assessment report was written between 0-12 months, we may be able to start therapy straight away. There are instances where some reports are not informative or more information is required. We can talk to you to discuss what the next steps might be.

What are your fees?

Please contact us via our enquiry form and you will be sent an intake form that contains our Schedule of Fees.
